‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series Set To Tie In With ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ Game

After years of waiting for Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi to return to our screens, that date is now only a few mere weeks away. If this week’s brand new trailer is anything to go by, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set to be incredible.

There’s a lot to consider when crafting a new Star Wars project these days. As the franchise expands, so does the timeline and lore. Adhering to what is canon is something McGregor learnt the importance of during production, particularly in relation to one video game which sounds a lot like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order if you ask me.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, McGregor explained that “all of the storylines have to [...] match up” as you “can’t have some fact in a video game that doesn’t match up to the movie.” Hmm, very interesting indeed.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is reportedly set four years following the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and fans have already spotted Fortress Inquisitorious in the trailer for the Disney+ series. Players of Fallen Order will know this location all too well as it serves as the setting during the climax of the game.

Fortress Inquisitorious is home to The Inquisitors, a task force of former Jedi set up by Darth Vader to hunt the remaining Jedi. The Inquisitors - led by the Second Sister - were Cal Kestis’ main adversaries in Fallen Order, and we also know that they’ll be causing trouble for Obi-Wan in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

The Grand Inquisitor will be making his live-action debut in Obi-Wan Kenobi after previously appearing in Star Wars Rebels, and it’s been confirmed that the Third Sister and Fifth Brother will also make appearances.

With all the similarities between these two projects, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Obi-Wan Kenobi to contain a Fallen Order cameo. Handily, Cal actor Cameron Monaghan also lended his likeness to the character so he could easily also portray a live-action Cal. Personally, I’d love to see more of Merrin too. With a few weeks to go, it won’t be long before we see the secrets of the series unfold for ourselves.
