One of 2021's best video games is completely free to download right now, and it's one you absolutely won't want to miss.
The Epic Games Store has been dropping a free game for the past few days as part of its festive celebrations. It's been a real eclectic mix so far too, with titles ranging from The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter to Shenmue III. This latest freebie is easily the juiciest so far, though.
For a very limited time, PC users can head to the Epic Games Store and grab 2021 indie darling Loop Hero for the low price of nothing. The offer ends at 4pm (local time) today, so you really do have to be quick. The good news is that Loop Hero will run an any old piece of hardware, so even your crappy old work laptop will be able to play it over Christmas.

I honestly can't recommend Loop Hero enough. Easily one of the most addictive games of 2021, it's a deck building roguelite hybrid with a dash of city builder in its DNA that really is impossible to put down.
Players travel an endless loop upon which cards are placed down to create enemies and traps, which in turn leads to more experience and better gear. This part of the game sits alongside a community management/city builder sim where players will upgrade the cards, perks, and gear they can find while out adventuring. It sounds simple, but it slowly unfurls to reveal an astonishing level of complexity. Trust me when I say if you start this game on Christmas Eve, it'll be 2022 before you know it.
