A Borderlands Game Is Free To Download And Keep, Right Now

This is the perfect point to dive in ahead of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands next year.

Courtesy of the Epic Games Store, Borderlands Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure is free to download until the start of next week, so hop to it!

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure is actually the fourth DLC for Borderlands 2 wherein Tina and the quartet of Vault Hunters play Bunkers and Badasses (the Pandoran version of Dungeons & Dragons). As the Bunker Master, Tina narrates the journey that the heroes embark upon into this colourful and lethal fantasy land, featuring themed class mods, items and enemies like orcs, wizards and dragons.

“The Queen's been captured and her kingdom is in peril; only you and your friends have any chance of restoring peace to this eccentric, enchanted land,” reads the description for the DLC. “Blast your way through treacherous forests, spooky crypts, and fearsome fortresses, but beware—your journey can change in an instant on account of Tina's gleefully chaotic whims. Dive into this epic tabletop romp and get ready for the fantasy fight of your life!”

Now, the game is standalone across PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility. It’s Gearbox Software’s intention to introduce new and returning players of the series to the imaginative twist on Borderlands ahead of the launch of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in March of next year. Plus, the game is playable solo or with a pal in its co-op mode.

Even if you have played the DLC, it is worth reading what this re-release is offering. All six Vault Hunters are available — Axton, Maya, Salvador, Zer0, Gaige, and Krieg — and there is an additional Vault Hunter Head to find somewhere in the Wonderlands as well as the standard cosmetic loot.

“You'll find plenty of new toys to play with, including Kite Shields that push enemies back when broken, Loot-a-pults that launch random loot across the map, and even a couple of fan-favorite BL2 missions transported into the world of the Wonderlands,” said the developer in the announcement. It’s only free to grab on the Epic Games Store and the promotion expires on November 16th at 4.00pm GMT.
