Bizarre B&B Management Game Has You Flirting With Guests And Fighting Wolves

Together BnB is a simulation game that's taking social media by storm... with its bizarre gameplay trailer that features flirting with female tenants in a guesthouse, fighting wolves, off road driving, and wine tasting? Maybe?

From Aurora Games, Together BnB is in early access and has mostly negative reviews on Steam. Now, before you write it off entirely, I beg you to witness the inanity of its trailer, which was probably the longest three minutes and thirty seconds of my life thus far. Accompanied by a jovial guitar track, the player strolls around a beautiful guesthouse that appears to be located in a mountainous area, where the sunsets are glorious and the surrounding forests in the morning mist is breathtaking. Unfortunately, these aren't the sights that the playable protagonist is enjoying the most.

Instead of taking in the wondrous nature around them, the character snaps photos of the female guests from the shadows while they're relaxing in their rooms. They also trail after the women, watching them swim in the infinity pool, watching them shower, lavishing them with gifts, and somehow this behaviour doesn't raise any eyebrows. One scene shows the player on a date with Nana, and there's a bar above the woman with a scale of possible drunkenness. On a different date, Emily's drunkenness bar is at a maximum, and she accuses the player playfully, "I know you have been staring at my boobs, hmm! You pervert."

Ok. That's awful. Interspersed between these moments of beautiful women doing ordinary things are other activities that the player may take on, like shooting hoops and shooting wolves. Yes, the local wildlife seem to be a genuine threat to the player and their guests, so it's a wonder why no one has built a fence to keep the two safe from each other. Stores will offer items that help develop relationships with the female guests, though there is an incredible moment when the player meets the guy who owns the gun shop (he wears a vest that reads "FIREARMS").

Is there an actual story or goal to work towards here? Aurora Games says there is in the description for Together BnB. "You will be playing the main character James, whose older brother owns a BnB. James was forced to take over the management of the BnB since his brother mysteriously disappeared," explained the text. "Besides searching for his brother through various clues, as a deputy manager, James also has to assist the beautiful tenants of the BnB, satisfy them and help them achieve their goals... Through the development of the plot in the game, you will gradually cultivate feelings and trust with female tenants, and gradually develop a deeper and intimate romantic relationship, but the crisis behind will also emerge gradually..."

What's that about? Have the women actually been holding James' brother hostage and taken over the guesthouse, kind of like the plot of Parasite? I mean, I would find that quite funny. The response on YouTube has been of utter confusion, with someone saying, "Kojima's new project looks like an absolute banger." Well, it's in early access for the foreseeable, so if your curiosity has been piqued, the game is £14 on Steam.
