It looks like the upcoming Hideo Kojima title Death Stranding will no longer be a PS4 exclusive. As had been suspected for a few months now, the bizarre Norman Reedus-fronted adventure game will also be coming to PC - though a fair few months after the PS4's impending November 8 release.
Kojima Productions confirmed the news on Twitter, revealing that Death Stranding will be hitting PC in Summer 2020. Provided you don't a PS4, care about Death Stranding, and are willing to dodge spoilers for the next few months, this should be great news for you. Well, hopefully. The review embargo lifts on November 1, so we'll have to wait and see if it's actually any good first, won't we?
Thanks to all of you who have been supporting #DEATHSTRANDING!

DEATH STRANDING release on PS4 is November 8, 2019!!
Furthermore, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS is happy to announce that DEATH STRANDING will be coming to PC in early summer of 2020!!#kojimaproductions #deathstrandingpc pic.twitter.com/Sk4clWWY1X
The possibility of a PC release for Death Stranding was first alluded to when VG247 pointed out back in August that the game's cover art was missing the "Only On PlayStation" branding that you can expect to see on other PlayStation exclusives such as Marvel's Spider-Man and God of War.
Kojima Productions and Sony also only ever referred to Death Stranding as "console exclusive", which further suggested a PC release was likely. If you backed the PC release speculation, give yourself a pat on the back. If you said it would never happen, go stick your face in boiling water, because you were WRONG.
Don't actually stick your face in boiling water, it's okay to be wrong sometimes.
It's unclear whether or not the PC version of Death Stranding will have any features that the PS4 version doesn't, though I'd suspect we can at least expect upscaled resolution and slightly enhanced visuals, as was the case with the recently announced Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC.
Oh, and I can't imagine we'll get official mod support, but I'm already looking forward to whatever wild Death Stranding mods the PC community comes up with.
Having said that, could the modders really come up with anything much more wild than a cameo from American talk show host Conan O'Brien, who shows up to give players a special otter hat? Because... well, Kojima already thought of that.
