Football Manager 2020 - the next entry in the series that's all about managing footballs - arrives next month, and SEGA has released a cool new trailer to celebrate. Oh, but this isn't your common or garden trailer, this one is special.

While most trailers greedily demand that you simply sit there and watch them try to sell you whatever it is they're selling, this swish new Football Manager trailer actually offers you a free sample via an interactive, Choose Your Own Adventure component that's actually really quite inventive.

It's an incredibly smart idea that actually makes sense in the context of the game and what it's all about - namely that every decision you make actually matters. Check it out for yourself below.

The fun new launch trailer throws players/viewers into a live-action scenario in which you take on the role of an unemployed manager who's trying to decide whether to pursue a new job at Hamburger SV or AS Saint-Etienne. From there, you'll be given a string of choices that could result in either success or shameful failure.

Choose the wrong play or promote the wrong player and you'll be fired quicker than a restaurant employee who's been caught washing their feet in the soup of the day. Make all the right calls, however, and you'll be showered in praise, adoration, and a free copy of the game. Okay, maybe not that last one - that would be madness.

At the end of the trailer, you're given perhaps the most important choice of all; play through it again or get early access to the beta by pre-ordering Football Manager 2020. Said beta, according to the game's website, "is likely to be released at the end of October."

"Put your opinions to good use and do things your way at your club this season, which kicks off on November 19th," reads the game's official description.

"Every decision counts in Football Manager 2020 with new features rewarding planning and progression, empowering managers to develop their prospects like never before as well as both the club's and your own unique managerial identity."

Football Manager 2020 is bound for PC, while mobile versions are also being released for iOS and Android on the same day. A Switch version is also in development, though full details on release have yet to be confirmed.
