We're in a strange time for consoles, the traditional walls are starting to break down. Letting people play together across consoles used to be unthinkable, but now cross-play is becoming a common feature of big releases. Exclusives, too, were something that were just that - exclusive.

But we've seen this year that's no longer the case - Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human have all come to PC via the Epic Games Store, despite previously being locked to PlayStation. Now, too, Death Stranding, one of the biggest PlayStation releases of this year has been announced that it's coming to PC in 2020. But, could God of War?

In response to a tweet following the news that Death Stranding would be making the jump to the kingdom of keyboard and mouse, God of War's director Cory Barlog was asked if the game might come to PC, too. And he didn't say no. In fact, he seemed enthused by the idea, saying "I would love that". Though, he did also say that it's not something he has any control over.

"It is, sadly, a decision far above my paygrade," Barlog wrote. "As is proven on a daily basis, I am no Kojima."

It's an exciting idea that exclusive games would no longer be locked to their platform, using the no man's land of the PC as a space where console games can be released after a period. For people who can't afford to pick up all the different consoles, being able to just get a PC and know that they can enjoy the different games from across the platforms would be a good thing.

Plus, we're already seeing that to a degree with Microsoft announcing that all of its Xbox exclusives will be available on PC on day one (as well as being included as part of Game Pass).
