Guy Builds High-End PC In Back Of BMW Just To Annoy Gamers

We can see why it would make some games just a little irate

Normally when people want to annoy gamers in any capacity, it'll be in the form of feeding an enemy team or teabagging someone. Things that get on people's nerves and drive them nuts as the troll laughs away. However, it looks like this one guy thought to annoy games in an even more petty way - making an expensive gaming rig in the back of his BMW.

Spotted by Hardware Times and verified by Tom's Hardware, one miner has installed the most unnecessary cryptocurrency mining set up in the back of his BMW i8, just to annoy other gamers. And although yeah, it's a little annoying to see so many rare graphics cards in the back of one vehicle, it's also just funny enough that we'd shake this guy's hand.

Simon Bryne went out of his way to fit the portable mining rig in the back of his close to $150k car which has a ridiculous six Nividia RTX 3080s in the back. Six. Most people at the moment can't even get their hands on one, so yeah when Bryne says that he did "just to annoy gamers" we can see where the annoyance might come in.

When speaking to Tom's Hardware, the miner says that it's also completely functional and the BMW i8 has more than enough power to power the setup - the car can output 3500W of which the rig only needs 1500W. However, the only way the driver can run the rig is if the boot of the car is open, otherwise, it overheats - so catch him in the car park of your local Tesco running up some currency while they wait for their partner to get back with the shopping.

So it sort of works, and it looks pretty cool too. I do wonder if it can run a nice raytraced version of Minecraft though - that would make it all worth the effort.
