Whether or not you're a fan of Blizzard's games, you have to admit that the studio always does a great job with cinematics and, more recently, the Warbringers shorts that were produced for the Legion expansion of World of Warcraft.

With this in mind, you may well have wondered what World of Warcraft might look like as an anime series. I mean, the characters are there, the lore is most definitely in place, but it still hasn't happened - at least, not from Blizzard directly.

But if you cast your eyes to the video below - or go here for a direct link - you'll find that YouTuber Star Duke has made a World of Warcraft version of the opening credits of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (thanks, PC Gamer).

If you're at all familiar with World of Warcraft and Azeroth, you'll recognise most of the characters portrayed here, including Jaina Proudmore, Sylvanas Windrunner, Varok Saurfang, and many others that play vital roles in the game's current 'Battle for Azeroth' expansion. There's even a small section which looks like it could be a callback to the Sylvanas Warbringer short, but that could just be me.

You can see the original opening that was used by going here. The video must have taken a huge amount of work and you can appreciate just how time-consuming it must have been to insert each character seamlessly over the originals. The music is the same in both - 'Fighting Gold' by Coda - and it just somehow works.

Still, it doesn't look like we're going to be getting a World of Warcraft anime series anytime soon. But all is not lost - a Diablo anime has all but been confirmed by the Linkedin profile of Activision Blizzard Studio's president, Nick van Dyk. His job description reads: "Executive producer of Diablo, a TV adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's IP, rendered in anime style. The show is currently in pre-production for distribution worldwide through Netflix."

An Overwatch animated series is also mentioned on the profile, but this seems a lot vaguer. So for now, we'll have to content ourselves with the video above if we want a fix of anime-style World of Warcraft goodness.
