Families can be difficult. They say that blood is thicker than water, but not everybody is lucky enough to have a harmonious family unit. Unfortunately for one gamer in particular, an issue between mother and child ended up in the former taking a sledgehammer to the latter's PC, utterly destroying it in the process.

In a post on r/pcmasterrace subreddit, u/Yuno_Is_Waifu showed exactly what happens when friction between family members boils over into acts of property destruction. While the story behind it is rather vague, the resulting damage is quite the opposite.

It's difficult to get an idea of why this happened, as the post title only says 'My mom smashed my PC with a sledgehammer today...' accompanied by two pictures of the obliterated computer.

So... what exactly occurred here? Yuno_Is_Waifu did give an explanation in the comment section of the post. They explained, "my tire fell off and no one else answered, so I had to call her. She was acting crazy and screaming insulting me and stuff (This isn't a common occurrence btw.) We don't have a good relationship beside that but it's lower level stuff like skipping class. Apparently my father is getting out of prison so she is going crazy, still I don't think it excuses her acting like this."

When asked whether or not they were being serious, they replied "Yeah 100% sadly." Some kind souls were trying to figure out which parts of the computer might still be salvageable, and Yuno_Is_Waifu has made posts on other subreddits looking for parts so there's some hope that the computer might not be a complete write off.

In somewhat related news, a gamer at an internet café was recently caught on CCTV punching the computer screen during a fit of rage before turning it off and walking away like nothing happened.
