Nemesis In Skimpy Trunks Is The True Horror In 'Resident Evil 3' Mod

The horror.

The eagerly anticipated Resident Evil 3 remake is set to release in just a few days - in fact, you may have already played the demo which released a couple of weeks ago. But it seems that some people weren't content with the levels of horror contained within the demo and decided to add their own contributions by way of modding.

As spotted by Eurogamer, one modder in particular, named Marcos RC, decided to create his own brand of horror by coming up with the - ahem - Beachboy Nemesis Outfit PC Mod especially for the Resident Evil 3 demo. Words honestly can't do it justice and the horror has to be seen to be believed. You can check it out in action in the video below (here for a direct link) and in this case, the thumbnail of the vid gives you a very good idea of what to expect.

You get to see Jill Valentine fighting the scantily clad Nemesis in a number of locales within Raccoon City. And for once, it's not the zombies or the threat of infection that reflects the true horror of the situation. It's not even Nemesis himself - it's that mesmerising Umbrella logo that is incredibly, disconcertingly, hard to ignore.

Honestly, the placement of the logo is just as hilarious as it is genius. I mean, I guess there's not a lot of material to choose from when it comes to the positioning. And after you recover from the initial horror, you'll almost certainly find your eyes involuntarily being drawn back to it, again and again. It's a fantastically effective defence mechanism - you know, if Nemesis actually needed one.

The same modder was also responsible for switching Nemesis' current face for the classic version from the original game as well as a few other Resident Evil related mods that you can find showcased on his Youtube channel.

In related news, if you always find yourself out of ammo when playing Resident Evil games, you're in luck with Resident Evil 3. Apparently the knife - which you can usually only use a handful of times before it breaks - has been upgraded for the remake and won't break with repeated use. This is great news if you find yourself in a tight spot with little or no ammo and will no doubt encourage players to attempt "knife only" runs.

Resident Evil 3 remake is set for release on April 3.
