Another day, another Epic Games Store free game. Yesterday the storefront was giving away free copies of one of the best horror experiences, Alien Isolation, today we've got one of the best Metro game around Metro: 2033 Redux.
I don't want to brag (but I'm going to anyway), we predicted that it could be a Metro game yesterday and lo-and-behold, look what's turned up. Metro 2033: Redux (not to be confused with Metro Redux) is a first-person shooter set in a dystopian Moscow. In 2013 an apocalyptic event devastates the world. Very few people remain alive, and those that do struggle in underground bunkers away from the toxic surface.
Metro: 2033 Redux takes place 20 years after the event and you play Artyom - a survivor about to venture to the surface for the first time in an effort to save what little mankind is still live in the Metro system. If we didn't know it was a video game plot, we might have thought that this was an upcoming HBO series, you know?
Although the game is a little older than the most recent Metro entries, it's still considered a fantastic campaign with both great gameplay and storytelling. It's about humanity coming together in a time of need- and oh hello 2020, we weren't talking about you, no. But it does seem relevant that some people might want to take a lesson from this game in doing your best to help save one another, huh?

The game is only going free until 4 pm today so hurry if you're wanting to try it out! After that, the next free game looks like it'll have sunglasses as a theme. The only title we can think of that fits the bill would be Travis Strikes Again but who knows, we'll just have to wait till later to find out.
If you're looking to buy some games though, a Steam sale has just started and we've picked out some of the best deals for you to have a look at.
