Remember when we told you that Amazon France had listed Horizon Zero Dawn for PC? Yes, the PlayStation 4-exclusive open-worlder of 2017, that so many of you lot love. That one. Remember that news?

Maybe you also remember when we, a few weeks before that Amazon story, reported that certain folks in the gaming press were confident that the game - the one with Aloy, that protagonist that so many of you love - was on its way to PC, much like Death Stranding and those not-so-great Quantic Dream games, which were also PS4 exclusives until they weren't? Sure you do. And if you don't, gestures to links.

Well, now the various reports and rumours surrounding Horizon Zero Dawn's move from console to home computer have been resoundingly confirmed by the head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios, Hermen Hulst.

As VGC reports, Hulst "can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer". And really, he should know, as before assuming his current role he was managing director of the Dutch studio Guerrilla Games, the makers of HZD.

Hulst's full quote on the matter, as published on the PlayStation blog, reads as follows:

"Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer.... There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon."

He continued:

"I think it's important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they've been missing out on. And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn't necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance."

And it feels like a good fit to us, too. So cheers for that, Hermen. For those who don't know about such things, PlayStation Worldwide Studios is, basically, the banner for the various first-party teams making games for the PlayStation brand. Right now, these include Guerrilla Games (Horizon Zero Dawn) and Sony Santa Monica (God of War), Insomniac Games (Marvel's Spider-Man) and Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo series), alongside several more.

For any old-school PlayStation users out there worried that all of their exclusives are going to get spread across other platforms, you can pack that patter in. Says Hulst, in regard to such concerns: "we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware". Which is nice, isn't it, If you're one of these weird people who still goes in for the whole platform tribalism thing. You do you, I guess.

Horizon Zero Dawn is dirt-cheap on PS4 right now - under a tenner if you're a PS+ member, and not all that much without said discount applied. Go check it out if you're into the idea of throwing rocks at robot dinosaurs, because there is a whole lot of that in the game.
