Microids has announced that Syberia and its sequel, Syberia II are currently 100% off via Steam for a limited time. You have until tomorrow (September 29) to head to their respective Steam store pages and claim them - at which point they're yours to keep forever. What have you got to lose? Nothing. Because they are free.

Take a look at the original Syberia in action on the Nintendo Switch below!

If you've never played a game in the Syberia series, they're effectively classic third-person point-and-click adventure games in which you explore various environments, speak to characters, and solve puzzles to progress. You get the general idea.

I should warn you that it is not the most action-heavy series, not by a long shot. Just don't go in expecting something like Uncharted, basically... though there are similarities in terms of the way both series approach puzzle solving.

For the most part, however, Syberia is a relatively sedate series that places an emphasis on using your brains to get out of situations. If that sounds like your cup of tea, you might consider checking it out.

"Join Kate Walker as she travels to remote locations and time periods in this timeless voyage to discover her true destiny," reads the Steam description for the first game.

The sequel continues things in much the same way, though it does significantly ramp up the challenge as far as puzzles are concerned.
