Have you been watching The Mandalorian? Even if you haven't, I've no doubt you already have some familiarity with it thanks the abundance of Baby Yoda memes that have been doing the rounds these past few weeks.
The Star Wars original series has proven itself as a massively popular hit thanks to its winning central blend of gruff bounty hunter and adorable puppet toddler. It should come as no surprise then, that modders have already worked the show's title character into Star Wars Battlefront 2.
This impressive mod is the joint work of Claymaver2000 and Savager34. While there have been a few attempts to bring the Mandalorian/Dyn Jarren/Mando into Battlefront 2, I have to say that this latest effort is perhaps the best yet. Check it out in all its glory below.
The new mod uses fellow bounty hunter Boba Fett as its base, re-texturing the armour and equipment and replacing the jetpack with a rifle for authenticity. It's worth noting that the lack of a jetpack is only a cosmetic change though, and Mando still essentially plays just like Boba Fett would.

Oh, while I'm talking about both Boba Fett and Mando, can we all agree that this new bounty hunter is way cooler than Boba ever was. Seriously, I'll never understand the love for Boba Fett. Yeah he looked cool, but what did he actually do? Seriously, go back and watch the original trilogy. He was useless. Don't even @ me.
Claymaver2000 has suggested that they might switch to another hero like Han Solo or Lando as the base character somewhere down the line. For now though, getting the current version finished is the priority
Personally, I'd prefer to see Baby Yoda/The Child in action in the DICE developed shooter, but all things in time. In fact, there's already a work-in-progress mod that aims to include the internet's purest meme in Battlefront .

It's unclear exactly how Nanobuds1220's Baby Yoda mod will play when it's finished, but I imagine it'll just float around the battlefield in a cot, switching radios on and messing with buttons. I suspect it will make a fine companion to the Mando mod.
The Mandalorian is a hit, then. One that's inspiring modders and fans the world over. It's not that much of a shocker, though. It was recently revealed that the Disney+ show surpassed Netflix's Stranger Things as the most in-demand show in America, beating the latter's impressive 21-week stint in the top spot.
