This New Poker Video Game Has Ray Tracing, Because 2020

Texas Hol’up.

It's 2020. Some things have sucked, other things (like new consoles) have sucked less - it's a bit of a mix. Lots of places to go for fun have been periodically closed, essential businesses are the only thing open in the UK right now which means I can't go to a local casino. Never been to one before but now I can't go to one it feels like something I want to be in.

Instead, I'll simply have to settle for playing Poker in a 4K ray traced environment - what a compromise. Yes, Poker Club will both support 4K and ray tracing and although we're not sure why you need any of those things when you're bluffing with the best of them, we can't argue with how pretty the game looks.

First spotted by PC Gamer, Poker Club aimed to let you play poker from your home in a beautiful environment and claims to be "the most immersive poker simulation ever made." Even just looking at the playing card shows you the grain of the power which is mightily impressive.

The description of the game say that Poker Club is for those of you that want to "Live the life of a poker pro in the most immersive poker simulation ever seen, with Ultra HD 4K visuals and breath-taking ray tracing". Playing will allow you to join their community and progress your poker skills in over 10 Texas Hold'em tournament modes across the game. These will include "freezeouts, shootouts, super-turbos, bounties, and more".

The best part is that you get to start in what's called Ralph's Pizzeria. Developers Ripstone haven't confirmed that they're simulating the smell of a proper Italian pie yet, but we're sure that will be an update later on in the game's life, right?

Poker Club isn't out yet, but it will be available on Steam November 19. You can wishlist the game here.
