How many screens does a laptop need to have before it's no longer considered a laptop? Two? Five? Seven? According to British hardware company Expanscape, the limit does not exist.
As reported by Gizmodo, Expanscape recently shared a first look at the Aurora 7 prototype laptop, a seven-screen behemoth. You thought two screens would maximise your productivity? Ha! The Aurora 7 will boost your work ethic and video game prowess sevenfold. Probably. I haven't actually worked that out, I'm just assuming from the number of screens.
Because this is still (just barely) a laptop, all seven screens can fold out from a main panel. Yes, this means you could probably use the Aurora 7 on your morning commute, but I can guarantee that everybody else on that train with you will think you're a massive w*nker. Best to save to keep in your bag and only pull it out when you can be sure nobody is around to judge you. Pretend it's a Dan Brown novel, basically.
Gizmodo notes that the Aurora 7, despite looking ridiculous, is a force to reckoned with. The laptop is powered by an Intel i9 9900K processor backed by 64GB of DDR4 RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1060 series graphics card. It also comes with a whopping 2TB of hard drive storage, as well as an extra 2.5 TB of SSD storage.

As for the screens themselves? There are four 17.3-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) LCDs, two in portrait mode and another two in landscape. Rounding out this rich tapestry of monitors there are an additional three 7-inch screens at 1920 x 1200 pixels. All seven screens can be folded in to create a laptop that's roughly 4.3 inches thick and 26 pounds. Again, not the most portable device in the known universe, but what did you expect from a seven-screen laptop?
While Expanscape has stressed that the Aurora 7 is still very much in the prototype stage, it's still offering to sell off these early designs to anyone who might be interested.
