Riders Republic is free to play right now for a limited time, so get on your bike. I had to. It would have been a missed opportunity and I would have thought about it for weeks otherwise.

From the developer of Steep, Ubisoft Annecy is bringing the thrill of extreme sports to gorgeous and geographically accurate recreations of national parks across the United States. "I've never experienced the outdoors as well as when I'm with my friends," said content director Thomas Geoffroyd in an interview with TheGamer.

"We live in a very hectic world, we're used to a lot of stimulus and nature sometimes is not going at the same pace. The idea for us was really to try and mix those so you can have fun, exciting moments experienced in the great outdoors with your friends. To us, experiencing the outdoors with your friends is basically the best way to do it."

So, the long and short of that tidbit is to experience this trial for Riders Republic however you want and with whoever you want. It is only open to PC players through Uplay and pulls you straight into the five careers in the game - Bike Freestyle, Bike Racing, Ski Freestyle, Ski Racing, Wingsuit, Rocket Wingsuit.

The four multiplayer modes are on offer too, with:

  • Mass Race: Three different multisport races with more than 50 players. New races appear randomly on the map every 30 minutes.
  • Versus Mode: Join up with five friends in any career event and see who's the very best.
  • Tricks Battle: Compete in 6v6 matchups and try to land as many tricks as possible on the various modules to capture them and earn points. The team with the highest score wins.
  • Free for All: Challenge up to 11 opponents and show them how it's done through a select playlist of events.

Hop to it though as the trial ends on October 13th at 8.00am BST. The game itself launches two weeks after that on October 28th for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
