Strap in ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we’re going back to Verdansk in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III, according to the new trailer.
Since its official reveal earlier this week, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III has fans unbelievably hyped for the next remade chapter in the story.

While some are sceptical about the game’s multiplayer, which will rob the previous title, Modern Warfare II of its post-launch support, the majority can’t wait to join Captain Price and the team on another mission.

The hype grew exponentially yesterday, when another trailer for the game dropped, this time teasing the return of the fan-favourite Call Of Duty villain, Makarov, who was teased at the end of Modern Warfare II’s campaign. While most of the focus has been on Makarov’s new look and what he might get up to in the campaign, eagle-eyed fans spotted a reference to a beloved Warzone map, Verdansk.
Verdansk was the map featured in the original version of Call Of Duty Warzone, but was swapped for Caldera in 2021, much to the dismay of fans, who’ve been calling for its return ever since.
In the Makarov trailer, we can see glimpses of the prison and stadium area, implying it’ll return in some capacity during the events of Modern Warfare III.
How it’ll return is another question though. There’s a chance it could just be a backdrop for cutscenes, the setting of a campaign mission, or maybe it’s a sign it’s finally coming back to Warzone, which will surely excite the player base.

While you’re waiting for Modern Warfare III to drop, you’ll likely have been dolphin-diving into some of the older Call Of Duty titles, which have had their Xbox servers revived years after their release. The revival actually led to Xbox Series X consoles selling out.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III will launch on the 10th of November later this year for Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
