Cyberpunk 2077 sequel teases us with incredible 'cinematic' next-gen visuals

Cyberpunk 2077 sequel teases us with incredible 'cinematic' next-gen visuals

This could be the beginning of something truly special

There are certain games we’ll be waiting for with bated breath; one of which being the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. After clawing it back in a spectacular way, the original CD Projekt Red game has become beloved.

As such, any news about its sequel is eagerly awaited by fans. So far, the teasers of what’s to come have been met a mixed reception, especially when news about a possible multiplayer option was revealed.

How stunning is Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty? We can't get enough!

Since then, news has been sporadic, at least regarding the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. Until now, that is. Apparently, the sequel is going to marry together “film and game”, seemingly in a similar way to Alan Wake 2.

This news comes from a CD Projekt Red job listing for a lead cinematic designer; the job description reads: “This role is part of our team working on Project Orion - the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. Our Cinematics Team focuses on crafting highly interactive cinematic sequences using animation libraries and motion capture, creating a unique fusion of film and game.”

Besides this information, we know little else. Project Orion, aka Cyberpunk 2077 2, is still in its early stages, with the majority of CDPR focused on The Witcher 4. Consequently, news is going to come through as a trickle for some time yet.

Nonetheless, while we have yet another sequel to wait for, there are other aspects of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe we can access and appreciate now – like the final secret of the game. Oh yes. The illustrious final secret has been uncovered, and, to our horror, it was staring us in the face the entire time.

Still, while all the secrets are now dried up, there are still surprises in store, as demonstrated by the surprise update that’s leaving fans a tad upset. The path to greatness has never been without hurdles, though, so what’s one more bump in the road?

The next Cyberpunk 2077 title might not be anywhere near ready, but seeing the job specs for it are giving us hope that CDPR is doing right by its fandom. Thank goodness.
