Elden Ring's map has been hiding one huge secret this whole time

The Elden Ring map has been subjected to a lot of scrutiny since the game launched, and it would seem such thorough analysis has paid off.

As far as fans are concerned, the map has been hiding a secret: its shape. We know it sounds bizarre, but you’d be surprised how many discussions have been had over what shape the map actually is.

Some believe it to be a foetus, with one gamer asked, “Is it just me or the whole map looks kind of like big foetus? Limgrave looks kind of like lungs/stomach and frozen lake in mountaintops like brain. Am I seeing things?”

Although some people did see the resemblance, others were distraught that the OP didn’t recognise the true shape of the map; as far as many are concerned, the Elden Ring map is in the shape of a curled finger.

As you can see, the shapes are remarkably similar, and, given the number of times fingers come up in the game, it seems more likely than it being shaped after a foetus. “Everything in Elden Ring is fingers,” explained a fan. “And all icons for fingers could resemble the whole of the map, even though I do see your point [about the foetus]. Still, it's universally seen as a finger due to the theme of fingers in the game.”

Yet another mystery of FromSoftware’s game has been discovered, leaving us asking if any more remain? After all, the so-called “final secret" was unearthed earlier in the year, just in time for when Shadow of the Erdtree drops.

Even if the base game offers more hidden gems, we anticipate that the upcoming DLC will.
