Elden Ring players are excited one of the best bosses in the game will be mandatory for those wanting to enter the upcoming DLC expansion.

Since the first official gameplay trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree dropped, fans have been meticulously analysing the footage for secrets that may have been missed, as well as identifying where the expansion takes place, who the new faces are, and what challenges are in store for our Tarnished warriors.

The new map looks enormous, and if the price of the expansion is anything to go off, FromSoftware fans are in for a real treat when they embark on a new adventure in the Lands Between.

However new content aside, some players are excited about how we’ll actually access the expansion. Like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, the entry point to the DLC will appear somewhere in the world, and will need to be found and interacted with in order to begin the adventure.

For Shadow Of The Erdtree, the door to the expansion will presumably be Miquella’s corpse, which is only accessible after fighting the Demigod Mohg, an endgame boss that’s often hailed as the best in the game.

Elden Ring fans are absolutely thrilled with this, with one saying “I'm glad Mohg is gatekeeping the DLC, he's easily one of the best boss fight in the game.”

Others agreed, also pointing out how Mohg will be a serious skill check for a majority of players, especially those who are new to the game.

“The funny part is that Mogh will still destroy most players, especially those who are new to the game or who dodged him at launch.”

“Imagine spending 40 bucks and not being able to get past him.”

“When dlc releases there will be more summon signs on Mohg than Malenia lmao”

Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree will launch on 21 June for Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms.
