Fallout 4 just got a major free update fans have been begging for

Every now and then, there’s a miracle in the gaming community, one requested for so long many had given up hope. For Fallout 4 players, that miracle has finally happened.

It’s been eight years since Fallout 4 launched, and while it didn’t reach the heights Bethesda had hoped for, it still proved a fairly popular game. Yes, it had its issues, but it also had a lot of positives as well – like Codsworth greeting you at the start of the game, even if your name was Miss Titty. Still, while we enjoyed causing mayhem and generally not helping Shaun, one of the main gripes PC gamers had was DRM software.

Remember when it all began with the Fallout 4 launch trailer

Their annoyance wasn’t at the fact the anti-piracy tech does its job, but rather that it dramatically hinders game performance. Not wishing to cause offence, but we all know that Bethesda games, particularly Fallout ones, can run janky at the best of times – I’m looking at you New Vegas. Which, in an unexpected turn of events, has a remaster available right now. New Vegas is the best game of the franchise (don’t argue), so this is a great opportunity to see it looking more shiny and beautiful than ever before.

If you were, and still are, someone who has despised what DRM has done to Fallout 4, you’re about to experience true elation like never before, because you can purchase the game without DRM included.

GOG is blessing Fallout fans with the opportunity via its discounted sale of the Game of the Year Edition. Not only will you get vastly improved gameplay, but you’ll only have to fork out $9.99 for the privilege. Obviously, if you already have the game and refuse to pay for it yet again, we understand your choices – but just think of what you stand to gain here. Compared to the furious Red Dead Redemption fans who’ve got to pay $49.99 for a simple port, you’re winning at life in a way they’ll never understand.

You can purchase Fallout 4 DRM free for just $9.99/£8.79 on GOG.
