GTA 6 gameplay uploaded early by developer's son, it appears

Despite a trailer being on the way, gameplay leaks for GTA VI are still popping up online, one of which comes from a dev’s son.

If you’re a developer for a big-budget AAA title, the last thing you’d want is to leak it before it's time, even worse when your child leaks it without you knowing.

That nightmare has seemingly come true for a Rockstar Games developer, after their son shared top-secret gameplay for GTA VI online, including a closer look at the game’s open world.

While Rockstar has been relentlessly pulling the leaks offline, this tweet has, for now, been left intact at the time of writing. The footage is very blurry, and it’s difficult to confirm if the gameplay is real or some sort of elaborate hoax like many are starting to believe.

Some are even saying the leaks have to be fake, as the gameplay is of a similar graphical quality to GTA V, with some even saying they can spot some of the game’s locations in the background. GTA VI is confirmed to occur in Vice City, though there have been rumours it’ll include other visitable cities and areas, like Los Santos or Liberty City.

If it’s true we’ll know soon enough, as Rockstar recently announced plans to share a full trailer for the game next week on 5 December. If the gameplay in the trailer matches the leaks online, it’ll be safe to say they’re legit, which will be bad news for the Rockstar developer involved.

In the meantime fans have slated the ones leaking the game before its official reveal, believing the more the game gets leaked the more work Rockstar has to put into deleting them, meaning less time working on the game itself.

Hopefully, the developer won’t get into too much trouble if the leak turns out to be credible, though given the reputation of this next Grand Theft Auto title, it’s not very likely.
