The latest patch notes for the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy have fans in stitches with laughter.

Despite its absence from this year’s Game Awards, a fact that simply didn’t sit right amongst fans, there’s no denying Hogwarts Legacy has been a colossal success for Warner Bros Games.

Since its launch, it has generated a frankly absurd amount of money and is officially the year's best-selling game. To be fair, it helps that it’s available on basically every platform, from current-gen systems like the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4, to PCs, and most recently the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS.

Okay, the bit about the 3DS isn’t true but you get the idea, it’s on a ridiculous amount of platforms.

It’s the Nintendo Switch version we’re talking about today though, as it’s been abysmal in terms of quality. Fans were initially pleasantly surprised by how well it ran on the console until a closer look revealed it’s just not meant to be on there. Bugs, glitches, performance issues, you name it and it’s probably got it. Don’t worry though, a patch update recently went live for Nintendo Switch users, and it’s comically big.

Twitter user RileyVerse shared the full patch notes in a post, urging fans to “PLEASE click on the image.” Upon doing so, you’re greeted with a very long list of changes and updates, so many that some fans “visibly flinched” when the image loaded.

One user humorously added they’d been “jumpscared by this scroll for a patch note.”

Another simply declared “I am not reading all that not going to lie.”

Some fans even used the patch notes as an example why some games are simply “not built for the switch,” going on to say “If you're not gonna retexture models and reoptimize the game for it, don't even bother. See Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 1.”

Let’s be honest, no amount of magic was ever going to make Hogwarts Legacy work on the Nintendo Switch… but it’s the thought that counts.
