Netflix users can get one of 2023's best-reviewed games for free right now

Netflix users can get one of 2023's best-reviewed games for free right now, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.

Well, today is an exciting day. Why? It marks the release of Night School Studio’s Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. It’s already one of 2023’s best-reviewed games and Netflix subscribers can grab it for free.

If you don’t know, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is the follow-up to Oxenfree which was released all the way back in 2016. The original graphic adventure game centred around teenager Alex who ventured to nearby Edwards Island with her friends. There, Alex encounters a number of supernatural secrets and must unravel what they mean if she wants to save her friends. This time around, we play as Riley who returns to her hometown after five years only to encounter the same mysterious radio signals first discovered by Alex in Oxenfree.

Take a look at the trailer for Oxenfree II: Lost Signals below.

Reviews for Oxenfree II were released this morning. It garnered a very respectable score of 84 on Nintendo Switch, 80 on PlayStation 5, followed by a slightly lower 76 on PC. This is pretty on par with the first game. In our review, GAMINGbible’s Ewan wrote, “Oxenfree II: Lost Signals was worth the wait. Not only is it a brilliant sequel in its own right, it’s a welcome reminder of the kind of story we can only experience in a video game. I have no clue what the future holds for Night School now that it’s owned by Netflix, but I can only hope the streaming giant is aware of the talent it now possesses.”

Elsewhere, Gaming Nexus wrote, “For only being a four-hour-long game Oxenfree II: Lost Signals has a lot to say. A narrative that is more intricate than its predecessor, while still holding onto the framework that made Oxenfree stand out. Lost Signals makes you care about these people. The voice acting goes above and beyond to help drive that home. Like the first title, Lost Signals feels unique in the video game space.” VideoGamer added, “Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals feels like an evolution of its predecessor. It presents us with a new perspective of both Edward’s Island and Camena that both add to the overall mystery of the paranormal world they reside in but also keep to the series’ down-to-earth storytelling.”

As mentioned, Netflix subscribers will be able to play Oxenfree II: Lost Signals for free as a part of their subscription, as it’s included in the library of Netflix Games. If you’re not a subscriber to Netflix, you can purchase the game on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile. Enjoy.
