It is always hard to accept our favourite games getting shut down. However, when it leaves a three-year-old in tears, Nintendo has some explaining to do.
This news comes after American video game journalist and Twitch streamer Jeff Gerstmann took to the streaming site to slam Nintendo after the company discontinued its online features for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Released back in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS, Animal Crossing: New Leaf was considered as one of the best in the Nintendo series but with its lifespan coming to an end, the company has decidedly chosen to discontinue the online feature, The Dream Suite.
The Dream Suite allowed players to explore each other’s towns much like the one found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, despite Gerstmann’s daughter seemingly enjoying this feature, it has now been shut down. As you can expect, this news wasn’t taken lightly.
During a livestream, Gerstmann explained that because his daughter couldn’t read properly yet, he had to read a warning that showed up during her New Leaf gameplay.
“On the bottom screen is an error message that says ‘This service has been concluded, thank you for your understanding,'” Gerstmann explained.

“Basically I told her that she was not going to be able to do that anymore and she burst into f**king tears … And I’m like God-damn, s**t. F**king Nintendo,” he continued.
He went on to express his anger at Nintendo by explaining that his daughter was upset throughout the night. However, we doubt Nintendo itself will be bothered.
This is not unsurprising for the company who regularly shut down features across its 3DS and WiiU titles which make core features in the Animal Crossing titles now unplayable.
Additionally, with no new updates scheduled for its most recent entry, New Horizons, it seems as though Animal Crossing fans are in for a rough ride.
