Can't stop thinking about Fallout? Here's another 20 hours of content

After several lengthy delays, Fallout 4’s new-gen update finally landed last week, although to a rather mixed reception.

Some praised the update’s improved visuals while others criticised them for being “barely noticeable”.

The update is also proving to be divisive with PC players given that it’s broken several of Fallout 4’s most crucial mods.

If you don’t play with mods then you have nothing to worry about but if you are an avid modder, it’s recommended that you don’t install the update until modders have had a chance to fix their creations.

This all comes at a time with immense renewed interest in Fallout thanks to Prime Video’s TV adaptation, amassing 65 million viewers in just two weeks of availability.

This makes Fallout the second most-watched debut on Prime Video, following behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

If you too have felt drawn back to the games and enjoy dabbling in the odd mod from time to time, I have an excellent one to highlight today.

Not sure which Fallout game to start with? Take a look at our handy guide below.

Created by NexusMods user FlashyJoer, ‘Flashy (Joer) - Gun For Hire - Commonwealth Mercenary Jobs’ adds around 20 hours of extra gameplay for you to dive into. That’s music to our ears.

“Have you ever wished that there were more Valentine's Detective Agency cases for you to play through? Ever wished you could open your own business and run your own jobs? Ever wished there was more to life than to be the MM general, where every settlement needs your help? Or wished there were more options for a role-playing experience that was not related to the main story or the various factions within the base game, a way to play a mercenary out to earn a living?” reads the synopsis.

“If you answered yes to any of these questions, you're definitely in the right place, because that's exactly what this mod allows you to do; to role play as a gunslinging mercenary out to make a cap, anyway you can.”

“You can infinitely run 34+ different jobs with 125+ random outcomes, in near infinite locations. Plus, there is a player owned office space, a vertibird you can optionally access later, as well as a custom-made multi-follower system, where you can optionally recruit up to three teammates to travel with you,” it continues.

In total, ‘Gun For Hire’ adds a whopping 27 quests alongside all those aforementioned jobs, thus keeping you busy for hours on end.

It took creator FlashyJoer over 2,000 hours to create - and it’s really no wonder that over 370,000 people have already enjoyed the end result.

It doesn’t look as if the update has been altered in recent days so you may want to proceed with caution if you are running Fallout 4’s new-gen update.

If you’ve avoided it for now though, for the sake of your mods, this one is well worth adding to your play pile.
