Red Dead Redemption 2 fans get new mode they've been begging for

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans get new mode they've been begging for

Time for a New Game+

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have been asking for the same feature for years and it has fallen on the shoulders of the modding community to implement it into the game. New Game+ is finally here.

The mod, simply titled 'Red Dead Redemption 2 New Game Plus' does exactly what it says on the tin. Installing this mod gives players the chance to replay the story with everything unlocked and ready to use.

Take a look at our favourite RDR2 wins and fails below.

Essentially, the mod creator, sezzco, has created a save file where they've unlocked as much as they possibly can. As they describe it, "Everything [is] done except story, side missions, legendary animals/fish, [and] two treasure maps." This gives players a perfect start, while leaving the bulk of the game to be completed.

The page on Nexus goes on to list everything that has been unlocked in greater detail and you really would be just focusing on the story. The map has been revealed, challenges have been completed, all equipment is unlocked and the majority of unlocks are available - your New Game+ play through will start in chapter two.

Of course, if you're looking to complete challenges yourself, this won't be the mod for you. The creator does everything to emphasise that this is purely to experience the story again.

Many of the community members who have downloaded the mod have commented that it's a frustrating scenario that Rockstar Games hasn't implemented a New Game+ themselves, especially when we see them included for so many games nowadays.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is lauded for its story - a slow-paced drama that moves through loyalty, trust, family and the downfalls of crime. Because it's such a big game, it's understandable that many would prefer to play a more streamlined version suited to showcase the story and the world building.
