Starfield: ridiculous NASA inspired gaming chair gives you your own cockpit

This NASA-inspired Starfield chair is incredible!

After years of waiting, the launch of Starfield is nearly upon us and we can wait no longer. Though we have no choice, until its release date arrives of course.

According to Bethesda, Starfield has been over 20 years in the making, but due to previous technical restrictions, its vision was never able to come to fruition. However, thanks to modern-day gaming, the time is nigh after the game recently went gold, meaning that it has concluded its main phase of development.

Check out the stunning Starfield live action trailer below!

It’s hard to argue that nothing quite offers the same level of immersion as a video game. Whether it’s being lost in a galaxy far, far away, adventuring in tombs, dropping in a huge combative map or playing for your favourite football team. Video games offer the kind of escapism that most of us can only ever dream of.

No doubt, Starfield will offer an incredible level of immersion as we go star trekking across its universe, exploring over 1000 planets and 100 star systems. I think it's fair to say that Starfield will keep us immersed for months to come, if not years, as proven with Skyrim.

That being said, if you thought that Starfield couldn't get as immersive as you imagined it would be, think again. At Gamescom this week is a one-of-a-kind NASA-inspired gaming chair and it looks incredible. The Starfield cockpit has been designed by Tempur in collaboration with Microsoft.

This epic piece of equipment features joysticks, an adjustable chair, a wide-screen display and a dashboard that would put Steel Battalion to shame (look it up). Most of all, it perfectly replicates being in a spaceship cockpit without actually being in a spaceship. Unless you’re already an astronaut, of course.

The chair was revealed in an epic video that will channel our inner space explorer. I mean, just take a look at this masterpiece, we need it now! Unfortunately, we won’t be able to buy this chair at retail, but there is a way in which we can get our grubby mitts on it.

As reported by Insider Gaming, at the end of this year, Tempur and Microsoft will be running a charity raffle with one lucky winner claiming this prestigious prize. If I had the money, I would love to enter the raffle, but even if I had, I don’t think it would be worth the death stare from my wife when this chair arrives at the house via courier. But then again ...

Starfield has a release date of 6 September 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Unless you’ve pre-ordered the Premium or Constellation Edition. If so, then your release date is 1 September. Starfield will also launch on Xbox Game Pass.
