The Elder Scrolls: Total War is a game I never knew I needed

The Elder Scrolls: Total War is a game I never knew I needed

We never knew we wanted this The Elder Scrolls: Total War game until now

For very different reasons, The Elder Scrolls and the Total War franchises are leaders of their respective genres offering immersive gameplay that keeps fans coming back for more, even after all these years.

On one hand, The Elder Scrolls from Bethesda is a fantasy RPG series and on the other, the Total War series from Creative Assembly offers epic historical RTS battles. However, never did we think that the two worlds would collide but now that they have. The Elder Scrolls: Total War is a crossover we never knew we wanted, until now.

Available to download via moddb.com, The Elder Scrolls: Total War is a conversion mod from 2007’s Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms on PC. It’s quite clear that The Elder Scrolls series is inspired by J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings novels, which is probably why this Elder Scrolls and Total War concoction gives me major The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth vibes.

Created by indie developers LoRdNazgu1 and DaedraWarrior, The Elder Scrolls: Total War “gives you a glimpse into the world of The Elder Sсrolls, as the head of one of the 20 factions fighting for dominance over Tamriel,” and it includes clans such as ‘Order of the Nine’ and ‘Host of Umaril’. The most recent update, version 2.0.2, has made graphical improvements to this already impressive mod including character models, and textures as well as a whole load of bug fixes and gameplay balancing.

As with most mods, The Elder Scrolls: Total War is only playable on PC. That being said, the mod is a conversion of a fairly old game, so with a bit of luck, you should have no problems running it if you want to check it out. Hopefully, it will be a lot of fun.
