The Witcher Unreal Engine 5 trailer gives us a taste of the series' future

The Witcher Unreal Engine 5 trailer gives us a taste of the series' future

This incredible The Witcher Unreal Engine 5 fan-made concept could give us a taste of the series' future.

Although it may be a while until we get our hands on The Witcher 4, one creator has given us a sneak peek at what the next entry may look like using Unreal Engine 5.

With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt quickly approaching its 10th anniversary, it is no surprise that fans are desperate for the next entry in the much-loved series. Luckily for them, developer CD Projekt RED is hard at work on The Witcher 4 which will reportedly be the start of a brand-new trilogy in the series.

However, with the developers also hard at work on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel - codenamed Project Orion - as well as reports of a remake of the original The Witcher, it may be a while until we get the fourth entry.

For now, one YouTuber known as TeaserPlay has given us a little taste of what the next instalment could look like using Unreal Engine 5. In a short trailer, we see Geralt of Rivia explore the towns and cities we fell in love with in The Witcher 3, but this time they have been given the modern touch and it is clear to see.

With sunlight streaming through trees, flags fluttering in the wind and roaring fires taking over the landscape, it is clear to see that The Witcher 4 could differ massively graphics-wise if made in the same engine. Although we see Geralt in this trailer, it is reported that the next game will spell the end of his story and another character will be taking the helm. Whether or not this will be Ciri as some people believe is still up for speculation.

In related news, players are still finding hidden quests within The Witcher 3 almost ten years on. A recent find will take you to the Cave of Dreams and can be found in a remote area of the bustling map.
