Assassin's Creed meets Zelda in this free PlayStation Plus open-world game

Assassin's Creed meets Zelda in this free PlayStation Plus open-world game

If you're a fan of Assassin's Creed and The Legend of Zelda, you should check out Immortals Fenyx Rising on PlayStation Plus.

Christmas is rapidly approaching which means that many of us likely have a little break on the horizon, whether that be from school or work.

I hope a large chunk of that break will be spent with family, eating delicious food, and opening a couple of presents - but I’m also imagining that there’ll be some time for gaming too. If you have no idea what to dive into this festive season, allow me to bring you a recommendation. If you just so happen to be a fan of both Assassin’s Creed and The Legend of Zelda, I urge you to check out the underrated Immortals Fenyx Rising. What’s even better is that the game is on both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.

Take a look at Immortals Fenyx Rising in action below.

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, Immortals Fenyx Rising launched back in 2020. While I’ve definitely encountered others who have played and enjoyed this game, it’s one of those that I’m constantly recommending as well. Don’t get me wrong, Immortals Fenyx Rising isn’t going to change your life, but it does provide for plenty of hours of fun. It tells the story of Fenyx, a mortal who is tasked with stopping the evil Typhon in a bid to save his brother.

As mentioned, it’s featured on both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus’ extra tier but you can, of course, also purchase the game - including on PC and Nintendo Switch. I say that Immortals Fenyx Rising is perfect for Assassin’s Creed fans as it’s made by the same team that created Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It was actually a bug discovered during Odyssey’s development that turned NPCs into cyclops that inspired Fenyx Rising’s creation. Fun fact.

As for The Legend of Zelda, I would be shocked if the developers didn’t admit to using Breath of the Wild’s open-world as inspiration. According to HowLongToBeat, Immortals Fenyx Rising’s campaign lasts for around 25 hours - the perfect Christmas slice of fun.
