With social media platforms being as popular as ever, it’s always handy to have integration with our favourite video game consoles.
One such integration is being able to share screenshots and video clips with ease from a PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Twitter (now called X). It’s handy because with a simple press of a few buttons, we can share our epic or funny moments and even well-earned Trophies in an instant. Sadly, that feature is coming to an end very soon.

At this time, PlayStation gamers may have received console notifications informing them that they will soon no longer be able to share content on Twitter as of Monday 13 November 2023 following a console update. Many moons ago, you were also able to post content to Facebook, but once the Twitter integration is no more, it will mean that YouTube will be the only third-party social media app remaining on the current-gen PlayStation consoles.

“As of November 13, 2023, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles,” reads the notification message from Sony. “This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so).”
Sure, you can still share screenshots, gameplay and Trophy images on Twitter as well as other social media platforms, but it will soon be without the simplistic ease that the PlayStation console offers. When the Twitter function is no more, the other easiest way would be to download your moments via the PlayStation mobile app and then upload them to your social media platform of choice.
So if you’ve got any content that you want to share on Twitter, you better get sharing like there’s no tomorrow or just wait until 12 November to generate some false tension.
