PlayStation drops a ton of bonus free downloads for January, no PS Plus needed

You're all stars

PlayStation gamers can currently get their hands on a range of free downloads for January, and you don't even need PlayStation Plus for most of them.

If you own a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 and aren't currently signed up to the PlayStation Stars loyalty program, what are you doing? It's a great way to grab free store credit, plus all manner of fun free bonuses that don't actually require a paid PlayStation Plus subscription.

PlayStation has kicked off a ton of new Stars campaigns for players to get stuck into throughout January. We've already covered the games you can play to get hold of a lil' free store credit, but there are some neat cosmetic freebies too.

First up is a digital collectible based on PlayStation's excellent accessibility minded Access controller. This one is exclusive to Access controller owners, and to unlock it you simply have to play any game on your PS4 or PS5 console.

Next up is a sweet pixel-art lunchbox digital collectible, which you can earn by playing any of the following (excellent) games: The Messenger, Sea of Stars, Enter the Gungeon, Celeste, Undertale, Shovel Knight Treasure Trove.

From 17 January you can get a charming little snowglobe by playing one of these cosy games: Mail Time, Roki, OMNO, Lake.

Finally, from 18 January you can play Viewfinder, Superliminal, The Witness, The Talos Principle 2, or Puzzling Places to net the Synaptic Feedback Digital Collectible. As if we need an excuse to play any of these games.

For more details on how to sign up to PlayStation Stars and how you can get the most out of it, head on over here. And if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, there's a load of free games you can get your hands on right now, including a few unexpected bonuses.
