PlayStation users are being warned against using the game share feature, otherwise they could lose access to their account.
For those who aren’t aware, Sony’s current-gen consoles have a feature called game share that lets you share your library of games with another console, and vice-versa.

It’s a handy feature to have, though it seems many users have been using it in the wrong way and have been losing access to their PlayStation accounts as a result.

In a PSA on the official PlayStation subreddit, user ManaByte pleaded with gamers to “Stop sharing your account!”
They went on to say there have been multiple posts where users have confessed to sharing their account with friends they’d met online in order to use the game share feature.
After falling out, or if the person simply couldn’t be trusted in the first place, the users have lost access to their account due to changed login details, a huge security risk especially if there are bank details attached to the account.
ManaByte went on to explain the game share feature has been gravely misunderstood by the majority of gamers, with its primary purpose being a way to share a game library amongst consoles in the same household, not across the world.

Other users were shocked and amazed that it was such a mainstream problem, after all sharing account details of any shape or form with someone you don’t fully know is always a dumb idea.
