PlayStation offering full refunds for first AAA game since Cyberpunk 2077

PlayStation offering full refunds for first AAA game since Cyberpunk 2077

Full refunds are a rare occurrence

It has been reported, though since deleted, that Sony is accepting refund requests for the first AAA game since Cyberpunk 2077. While the Reddit post and the talk on Twitter have seemingly been removed, there have been accounts that Sony is giving out refunds once the player asks.

The game in question is the latest from Rocksteady, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With the mixed reviews the game received, the out-of-touch live service elements, and the low player count, it’s understandable that some fans would want their money back.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has fallen very short of targets.

One player took to Reddit to inform others that they had successfully received a refund for the game, despite the strict refund policy of Sony. Sony followed through and issued the full refund, which could spark a wave of players looking to do the same. We said in our review that “depending on how you slice it, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League feels like the last breath of the Arkhamverse, rather than an emotional send-off that evolves the series in a meaningful way.”

Many players have taken to social media to lament the live service elements of the title which have brought the opinion of the game rather low. The trend seems to be that Rocksteady should have just made a solid game with a finite ending with the possibilities of DLC characters like the Joker, who releases very soon.

At the time of writing, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has less than 220 players on Steam which must be deemed a failure for Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Whether more refunds are issued, we’ll have to wait and see. There hasn’t been any official word from Rocksteady or Sony, but if this starts an avalanche of refunds, we’ll hear about it soon enough and we could have another case of Cyberpunk 2077 on our hands.
