PlayStation Plus adds $289 worth of new free games

PlayStation Plus adds $289 worth of new free games

PlayStation Plus subscribers can make huge savings with the latest batch of free games.

PlayStation Plus is the gift that keeps on giving. Well, it’s a gift that keeps on giving as long as you cough up the dosh for the subscription, of course.

Each month, PS Plus subscribers are treated to a new batch of gaming goodness, whether you subscribe to the Essential, Extra or Premium tier. Obviously, the higher the tier, the more games that you will have to play.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is included in PS Plus November 2023!

For example, PS Plus Essential is basically the same deal before Sony revised its subscription service in 2022 offering a new batch of a few games each month with the added perks of exclusive discounts and DLC. Next up, PS Plus Extra offers everything that is included in the Essential tier but with a greater number of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games to choose from.

As for PS Plus Premium, this includes everything that is included in the previous two tiers, but with even more games to choose from including PS1, PSP, PS2 and PS3 titles as well as trials, cloud streaming and more. Recently, Sony also added the Sony Pictures Core movie catalogue for Premium subscribers.

Just yesterday, Sony revealed the batch of games included in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium for November 2023. Redditor Big-Teddy shared information regarding the value of the games included in the Extra offerings this month without the classic games from the Premium tier. In total, the games in PS Plus Extra work out to be worth roughly $289 (about £234) if purchased separately at the maximum RRP.

Unfortunately, none of the games offered in PlayStation Plus' November 2023 drop will blow you way and that includes those offered in the PS Plus Essential tier. In fact, fans have been so frustrated with the recent PS Plus offerings, that some aren't even bothering to download the games. Either way, even if there are only a few games that tickle your fancy, you still might save a few quid compared to buying those games individually.

That being said, hopefully, PlayStation Plus subscribers will have something to be more cheerful about when Sony announces the games for PS Plus in December 2023.
