PlayStation Plus' newest batch of free games are a huge hit with subscribers

PlayStation Plus subscribers are impressed with the latest leaked extra and premium tier offerings.

We’re one day away from Sony revealing October’s official extra and premium tier PlayStation Plus line-up but if you hopped online yesterday, you may have noticed that eight games have already leaked online.

For months now, PlayStation Plus subscribers have been left underwhelmed by the latest offerings, particularly considering the service has undergone a major price rise. Thankfully, October’s essential tier line-up - consisting of The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22, and Weird West - are a mild improvement, but fans are still waiting to be truly blown away. Now would be a good time to add God of War Ragnarök, Sony. Just saying. Well, we’re one day away from the next extra and premium tier reveal but leaker billbil-kun took to social media yesterday to partially leak the line-up. In a revolutionary turn of events, fans are actually quite pleased with the leaked batch.

The Callisto Protocol is available now on PlayStation Plus essential. Take a look at the game in action below.

According to the leaker, this month, extra and premium tier subscribers will be able to nab Gotham Knights, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, Far: Changing Tides, Gungrave GORE, Elite Dangerous, Dead Island: Definitive Edition, and Alien Isolation. See? Not bad at all.

PlayStation Plus subscribers took to Reddit to share their thoughts, and the vast majority were very impressed. “Oh man that’s cracking good!! Alien Isolation is a guaranteed play in October,” wrote cfer50, while DAV_2-0 added, “If someone hasn't played Alien Isolation yet, please do. It's a fantastic survival horror game.”

User scott1swann said, “Oddly enough, I've been looking to try Dead Island and Gotham Knights (ironically) to an extent for some time now. Now's my chance, I guess,” plus Mr_Nobody0 wrote, “Seems like Sony is finally stepping up their game with PS Plus.” A definite improvement.
