PlayStation Plus drops 'thousands' of new free games in one

PlayStation Plus has dropped another round of free games for its subscribers, one of which comes with a near-unlimited amount of content

It’s that time again, PlayStation Plus has dropped another round of free games for its subscribers, one of which comes with a near-unlimited amount of content

Each month PlayStation Plus drops three free games, and while they tend to vary in terms of desirability, you can’t deny the value of August’s offering, which will make the play, share and create game, Dreams, a free download for all subscribers.

Take a look at the trailer for Dreams below

In case you weren’t aware, Dreams is a PlayStation-exclusive game that lets you create whatever you like and share your masterpieces with other players. Whether it be microgames, music, artwork, sculptures and more, your only real limit is your imagination.

You can also browse and play other people’s creations and give them ratings so other people check them out too. Thousands of players have gone wild with the title, and made some truly spectacular builds, like enormous works of art, first-person shooters, recreations of real-world locations and much more. It’s very much an easy-to-learn, difficult-to-master type of experience, so the more time and effort you put into creating, the more rewarding it’ll be when it’s finished and enjoyed by the community.

PlayStation 4 owners who bought the VR set can also enjoy the game through their headset, as well as use PlayStation Move controllers, which is a great addition to and arguably makes creating stuff easier.

Dreams will be accompanied by two other free games in August, Death's Door and PGA Tour 2K23

As always, the new month will also be bringing a change to the PlayStation Plus Extra game catalogue, cycling out some beloved games and replacing them with fresh titles, like Sea Of Stars, an unreleased title that’ll launch on PlayStation Plus from day one and can be played right now via a free demo.

Dreams and the other free games will be available to download from the 1st of August for all PlayStation Plus subscribers, regardless of their subscription tier.
