PlayStation Plus' new free RPG is getting 10/10 scores and rave reviews

PlayStation Plus subscribers are eating good

PlayStation Plus' latest free game is getting rave reviews, and multiple 10/10 scores. You know, because 2023 wasn't already stacked enough.

As of August PlayStation Plus Essential tier subscribers can currently grab in August: PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams, and Death’s Door. A fine bunch, but Extra and Premium tier subscribers can grab a further 17 games in August, including Moving Out 2, Lost Judgement, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. But the real headline? PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass will also being getting indie RPG Sea of Stars on 29 August.

Take a look below!

GAMINGbible gave Sea Of Stars a 9/10 in its newly published review, calling it retro-flavoured perfection with a modern twist.

"Sea Of Stars may come across to some as little more than a tribute act to the classics, but I hold no truck with such sniffy dismissiveness," we wrote. "If it is a tribute act, it’s definitely more UK Pink Floyd Experience than your mate’s crappy pub band that plays Arctic Monkeys covers.

"Sabotage Studios has created an unforgettable, essential RPG that stands on the shoulders of giants and boldly looks ahead to the future. Sea Of Stars is damn-near perfect, and more than deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the titles that inspired it."

At the time of writing Sea Of Stars has a rating of 91 on Metacritic, making it one of the highest-rated games of the year so far. Multiple outlets, including Dexerto and Player2 have opted to give the game full marks, with heaps of praise for the game's retro-inspired visuals and modern gameplay enhancements. What I will say is it's one of my favourite games of the year already, so if whether you play it on Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus (or on your Switch, like me), just make sure you don't miss out.
