With Christmas quickly approaching, the time comes when you want to treat yourself even if what you want is on the more costly side of things.

Luckily, Black Friday is almost here, bringing a variety of deals and discounts for gamers on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo platforms, from consoles, games, accessories and subscription services.

For PlayStation Plus subscribers, or those who fancy trying the service for the first time, this is an important part of the year as they’ll be able to grab a membership at a reduced cost. Why is this important I hear you ask? It’s because earlier this year Sony made the bold move of raising the price of all PlayStation Plus subscription tiers, making it more important than ever to save a bit of money when subscribing or resubscribing.

Luckily, interested users can get some money off a new subscription thanks to a deal on PlayStation Plus gift cards, courtesy of ShopTo.

The supplier is offering the following cards at a reduced price;

£32 PS Plus Gift Card - Was £32.00, Now £29.85 - Saves 7%

£40 PS Plus Gift Card - Was £40.00, Now £35.85, Saves 10%

£84 PS Plus Gift Card - Was £84.00, Now £74.85, Saves 11%

This means you get more PlayStation Store credit than you’re actually paying for, which you should definitely put towards a new PlayStation Plus subscription while you can get one slightly cheaper.

PlayStation fans have bee tremendously disappointed with the recent subscription price-hike, with many saying the company has failed to justify it when you look at the lacklustre games and features being offered. The most exciting one recently was the ability to cloud-stream games via PlayStation Plus Premium, but even that reportedly isn’t enough to warrant spending more money.

Regardless, if you fancy trying out one of the various membership plans, now’s the time to do so while they’re cheaper.
