PlayStation Plus January 2024 free games lineup is already causing issues

PlayStation Plus January 2024 free games lineup is already causing issues

Sony has revealed which games are departing PlayStation Plus in January, and there are some big losses.

PlayStation Plus’ January offerings will be upon us but in the meantime, we do know what games are set to leave the service next month and the line-up includes one former GOTY winner.

To recap, December’s essential tier offerings are available to download now. You can now enjoy LEGO 2K Drive, Sable, and PowerWash Simulator, and I heartily recommend you sample all three. We’re just two days away from finding out what should land on the extra and premium PlayStation Plus tiers this month. Let’s hope we end the year on a high. With that in mind, we certainly don’t yet know what new games January will bring, but we are aware of which titles are being taken away. In total, 10 games are set to leave PlayStation Plus next month so take this as your final warning to play them.

GOTY winner It Takes Two will depart PlayStation Plus next month.

The full list of departing games is as follows: It Takes Two, SnowRunner, Back 4 Blood, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, Devil May Cry 5, Jett: The Far Shore, Omno, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire - Ultimate Edition, The Missing: J.J Macfield and the Island of Memories, and Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae.

I’m impressed with PlayStation Plus fans. Just last week, many predicted that Back 4 Blood and Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition would soon be departing based on suspected expiring lending windows. It’s a great shame to see It Takes Two leaving so soon, seeing as the game joined the extra tier just six months ago. In fact, SnowRunner only joined in July. Sony really isn’t giving us too long to sample some of these titles.

It Takes Two? But it’s way too soon,” wrote tokusa0, while KittenDecomposer96 added, “I thought DMC5 was here to say. [..] I still hop on a palace from time to time.” User skylinefan26 said, “SnowRunner leaving?! I’ve got 120 hours into it and have barely touched the surface”. One angry subscriber said, “Sony is a joke. Keep giving us c**p and take away multiple great games.”

We can only hope that January brings us some fantastic new additions to make up for these losses.
