PlayStation Plus latest free game is a stunning open-world RPG you can't miss

The latest additions to the ever-evolving PlayStation Plus library are here and the line-up includes AAA big hitters, indie darlings, retro classics and everything in between. However, there is one particular open-world RPG that shouldn't be missed.

Regardless of the tier that you subscribe to, there are plenty of games to choose from with Sony’s PlayStation Plus library, whether it's the Essential, Extra or Premium tier. You can enjoy the likes of Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarök or even an old-school classic such as Resident Evil: Director’s Cut. There’s plenty of joy to be had with PS Plus.

This week, Sony announced the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for March 2024 bringing a total of 13 titles to enjoy. One of those titles is the topic of today’s discussion, and it’s the open-world RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot from Bandai Namco. Best of all, this includes the PlayStation 5 version of the game which has improved visuals and performance. Sadly, however, these last few weeks have proven to be bittersweet for anime fans, following the passing of beloved Dragon Ball creator, Akira Toriyama at the age of 68.

Initially released in 2020 before receiving a new-gen upgrade on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a game that was met with solid reviews from its fans earning a score of 8.1 on the aggregate website, Metacritic.

“Relive the story of Goku and other Z Fighters in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot! Beyond the epic battles, experience life in the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot world as you fight, fish, eat, and train with Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and others,” reads the description of the game.

As with all the new additions with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium this month, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be available on Tuesday 19 March. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
