If you thought the PlayStation Plus price increase in your neck of the woods was bad, some subscribers are dealing with a hike of six times the previous amount. Ouch.
As I'm sure you've heard by now, Sony decided that after announcing one of the worst months of free games for the service in years, it was time to hike up the price. People were not happy. And I fear they're not quite over it yet.

“We also wanted to let you know that starting 6 September we will be increasing the price for PlayStation Plus 12-month subscriptions globally across all benefit plans. This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service. “

The new prices are as follows:
- Essential 12-Month Subscription- $79.99, 71,99 Euro, 59.99 GBP.
- Extra 12-Month Subscription- 134.99 USD, 125,99 Euro, 99.99 GBP
- Premium 12-Month Subscription- 159.99 USD, 151,99 Euro, 119.99 GBP.
When you hold this up next to Xbox Game Pass which, among other things, has just given subscribers Starfield on day one, it's not a great look. Worse still, it would appear PlayStation Plus has sextupled in price for subscribers in Turkey.
"Price before (Deluxe) 460TL now 2740TL a year," wrote one dismayed user over on the PlayStation Plus subreddit. It certainly puts our UK price increase into perspective, not that we can't still be kind of pissed about the whole thing.

"This is not a price increase, this is thievery," another user said simply.
Others have suggested Turkey has been hit by such a steep price hike as a result of subscribers from outside of the country creating Turkish accounts to get PlayStation Plus at a heavily reduced rate. Yes, this was a trick that actually worked. Clearly it has come back to haunt the poor people of Turkey.
