PlayStation Plus subscribers will soon lose access to Bethesda’s time-warping first-person shooter Deathloop, play it before it goes.

To no one’s surprise, PlayStation Plus is getting another shuffle, swapping out games from its Extra-tier game catalogue for new ones, some of which have recently been leaked online.

Check out Deathloop below!

This month, one of the biggest departures from the subscription service is Deathloop, the first-person-shooter developed by Arkane Lyon best known for the Dishonoured series, and published by Bethesda.

The title was added to PlayStation Plus over a year ago and was actually a timed exclusive until it made its way over to Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass. Recently though, it was announced the game would be leaving the service, and now it really is your last chance to play it while you don’t have to pay for it separately.

If you weren’t aware, Deathloop is an FPS that mixes hectic and explosive action with stealth and area exploration. The player will take control of a professional assassin who’s trapped in a time loop, leading to the world being reset when they die or reach the end of the day. The only way to escape the loop is to take out all targets, which is only possible through exploring the area, learning the layout, finding shortcuts and mastering the time loop to get the job done.

The game received mixed reviews, mainly from critics who praised the game with high scores, vs. players who weren’t as generous with their criticism. It’s currently sitting somewhere between 5/10-7/10 on Metacritic depending on which platform you look at.

We loved the game though, declaring it our PC Game Of The Year in 2021, calling it a “killer mystery loaded with stylish violence” in our review, which you can check out here.

While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s well worth a go while it’s still on PlayStation Plus, but you haven’t got long to try it as it’ll be gone by 16 September.
