PlayStation owners urged to claim free store credit while they still can

Who wouldn't like free PlayStation store credit just by completing easy tasks such as playing video games, am I right? If so, then the PlayStation Stars rewards program might be your cup of tea.

The PlayStation Stars rewards program was launched in 2022 and it’s a free service via the PlayStation mobile app. Once you sign up for Sony’s PlayStation Stars and download the free app, you’ll be able to earn easy rewards which include digital collectables (not NFTs) and most importantly, free credit to spend on the PlayStation Store.

Some of the PlayStation Stars campaigns will require you to play certain games on PS Plus, purchase select titles from the store or earn a specific trophy. Upon doing so, it will reward you with free goodies. The top reward to acquire via PlayStation Stars is the £20 store credit. It may take a while to gain it, but it’s easily possible, as I have acquired one myself and now I’m on my way to earning the next one.

However, as with most forms of software, the chances of encountering bugs and glitches are high - and PlayStation Stars is no exception. In such cases, there is a chance that despite completing a campaign on PS Stars, you might not be gifted with your rewards, such as points which can eventually be used to buy £5 or £20 free store credit.

If you encounter such a bug, there’s an easy fix and that’s to simply contact Sony customer service. However, as mentioned by Reddit user luscious_doge, rather than contacting Sony PlayStation customer services, instead contact the PS Stars customer service. Oddly, if you reach the highest rank in PS Stars (level four), you will have priority customer service, though that should be available to everyone.

Be sure you sign up to PlayStation Stars if you haven't already and claim some free goodies while you play. Trust me, it’s worth doing as you’ll rack up points and claim store credit before you know it.
