Fancy getting some free store credit without having to download a game? Of course you do, especially in this climate! Well, now you can because gamers can play two online action titles right now thanks to PlayStation 5 cloud streaming that'll give you that sweet additional perk.
If you missed this new feature, Sony launched it earlier this month, with North America soon to get the feature on 30 October. Basically, you’ll be able to play a select number of games without enduring the hefty download size that nearly every contemporary game comes with now – need I remind you about the chonky filesize of Starfield that Xbox players had to deal with?

From what we’re seeing already, cloud streaming is a hit with gamers. Even more so now you can stream Fortnite and Genshin Impact. Granted, these free-to-play games might not be your cup of tea, but when you can do so and get PS Stars, why not take one for the team? This is a decision Educational_Potato90 has come to, “I’ll use this to open up games I’d never play for the Playstation Stars points.” Now that’s some big brain energy right there.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, this is a feature that only PS Plus users can get. At first, subscribers believed it to be restricted to PS Plus Premium, however, one Redditor came to the rescue to clear up the confusion, “It's with PS Plus Premium/Extra and PS Plus regular not just Premium.”
Seeing as we’ve now cleared up that pressing issue, we come to the next one: are these the kinds of games you want to be streaming? “I am wondering why they include games like this in the streaming service,” said the OP. “They are already free, and I feel like streaming them would increase the latency which is not good for games like Fortnite. Unless they plan to include Cloud Streaming in PS Portal, I do not really understand it.”
I agree that lag is an issue – recently, I decided to stream Persona 5 on my Xbox to see if I liked the game rather than download it, which was going to take hours. Although I could play the game, it lagged often, with the graphics pixelated; in short, it wasn’t an enjoyable introduction to the game. Obviously, my internet could be to blame, but it’s just something to bear in mind if you have a tendency to rage quit over lag.
Then again, if you’re just streaming to get free credit, have at it because lags mean nothing when you’re playing the system.
