The first Red Dead Redemption game can be downloaded for free right now on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, complete with a graphics upgrade.
While Red Dead Redemption 2 is still all the rage after half a decade of it being released, the first game still holds a special place in fan’s hearts.

The game had it all, a phenomenal story, great characters, and most importantly the Undead Nightmare DLC which should have definitely been reintroduced to Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s criminal that it wasn’t.

For those who haven’t played it, or fancy a trip down memory lane, you’ll be happy to know it’s now available as a free download for those subscribed to GTA+.
GTA+ is Rockstar Games’ subscription service that offers users a variety of freebies, mainly free content in Grand Theft Auto V Online.
This time around though it’s granting players access to a whole-ass game, and it’s available right now for those on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
In case you needed more incentive to download a free game, this version of Red Dead Redemption just so happens to be the 4K 60fps version if you’re on PS5, whereas Xbox Series X/S users will have to make do with a 4K 30fps version.

Either way it’s a free game, sort of, and a subscription to GTA+ also nets you a range of other goodies too so it’s worth considering.
While all the buzz around Rockstar at the moment is around GTA VI and its possible delay to 2026, there’s still a lot of demand from fans for more Red Dead Redemption content, whether it be additional DLC, Red Dead Redemption 3 and even a live-action film…
