If you loved Assassin's Creed Origins you need to check out this free Steam download

If you loved Assassin's Creed Origins (and why on Earth wouldn't you have?), there's a fantastic free download currently available on Steam that you definitely need to check out.

You probably know Abubakar Salim best as Bayek, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins. But what you might not know is that he's releasing his very first game this year. And if you didn't know that, you definitely won't know there's a free demo currently available to download and play on Steam.

Tales of Kenzera is a beautiful looking new metroidvania, which Salim showed off for the first time during last year's Game Awards. The actor explained the game is very much a tribute to his late father. "For a long time," he said during an emotional appearance on stage at The Game Awards, "I've struggled to find a way of communicating my journey with grief. To now be able to do that through Zau's story of loss, growth and healing in Tales of Kenzera: Zau feels so right."

The game is currently expected to release in April, but you can check out the free demo right now. Oh, and if you like what you play you can currently pre-order it and get 10 percent off, which is not too shabby at all.

"Wield the dance of the shaman. Reclaim your father’s spirit," reads the game's official description. "Brave the beautiful and treacherous land of Kenzera with the God of Death in Tales of Kenzera, a metroidvania-style adventure crafted by Surgent Studios."

Tales of Kenzera genuinely looks like it could well be one of 2024's best surprises. Between this and the excellent new Prince Of Persia game, we're being absolutely spoiled for brilliant new metroidvanias. Let's hope this is the first of many new releases from Salim, because the man clearly knows his stuff.
